Research and Development in Blaenau Gwent
Women’s
Aid Monmouthshire now has a Research and Development Worker to research
the gap in provision and services for women and children in Blaenau
Gwent made homeless, or potentially homeless, because of domestic
abuse. The research will concentrate particularly on those women
who are affected by alcohol or drug misuse or severe mental distress.
The
Research and Development Worker can provide information and education
to such women, and to other agencies in Blaenau Gwent to recognise
and identify women affected by domestic abuse and the related mental
health difficulties or drug and alcohol misuse issues that they might
experience.
Partnerships
between Housing, Health, Social Services, Education and other statutory
and voluntary organisations are also
being sought
to
discover the level of need and to initiate services to address
those needs.
If
you feel that you or your organisation could help with this research,
or if you would like more information, please
call us
during office
hours on 01873 859011.
